‘Catalina’s (Bar & Grill)’
The beach at midnight is such a quiet place,
The waves are smashing all over this sandy space.
The moonlight shadow of a strangers smile.
Is it okay if I crash here for a while.
I’m up til daybreak searching the scene,
The sand getting stuck on the bottom of my feet.
To a street right off Sunset Ave.
There’s a place that I have come to.
Catalina’s bar and grill, they can serve you twice and you still won’t get your fill.
Where’s the horizon lies everything seems still,
At Catalina’s Bar and Grill.
Black cat in the alleyway always says hi,
And I can get there if I try.
They serve the best jazz in town.
From Brubeck to Clifford Brown.
From the breeze of the sea I start walking,
By now that opportunity starts knocking.
To a street right off Sunset Ave.
There’s a place that I have come to.
Catalina’s bar and grill, they can serve you twice and you still won’t get your fill.
Where’s the horizon lies everything seems still,
At Catalina’s Bar and Grill.
A white tuxedo and a ruby red tie,
It sure looks flashy when you’re the other guy.
A candlelit dinner for two the accuser always being accused.
But when you’re stuck in your ways I can be so confident to fight another day.
At Catalina’s bar and grill, they can serve you twice and you still won’t get your fill.
Where’s the horizon lies everything seems still,
At Catalina’s Bar and Grill.
